Botanical Painting Workshop

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of botanical painting! This enchanting course invites students to explore the art of capturing nature’s beauty on canvas. We will start with the essentials of painting, guiding you step by step to create your very own painting. Each participant is encouraged to progress at their own pace, allowing for personal expression and creativity in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our aim is to nurture your artistic journey through a comprehensive exploration of value, color, form, and composition.

Botanical drawing and painting boasts a rich lineage that spans thousands of years, from the ancient limestone bas-relief carvings to the exquisite plant illustrations by Arthur Harry Church in the early twentieth century.

In every class, you will be introduced to the materials, skills, and techniques needed to produce meticulous botanical illustrations. With the instructor's step-by-step guidance and close observation of your subjects, you will bring to life stunning representations of plants, flowers, fruits, vegetables, and their intricate parts.

A fresh project will be unveiled in each session, allowing you to join the series at any point. We welcome all skill levels to partake in this artistic adventure. All supplies will be provided, and as you work, enjoy a delightful assortment of tea and cookies.
